Garden transformation: the Serenity Garden, from RHS Hampton Court to an NHS Hospital | The RHS
Watch the transformation of an underutilised outdoor space within an NHS hospital into an oasis of serenity for patients and staff to enjoy.
In June 2024, The Landform Mental Wealth Garden, designed by Nicola Hale and built by Landform for RHS Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival 2023, was relocated to St Peter's Hospital in Chertsey and renamed The Serenity Garden.
The gold-medal winning garden promotes the feeling of wellbeing by using scent and beautiful planting to lift the spirits. Its design is structurally inspired by the parterre, with a mixture of planting influenced by aromatic and pollinator-friendly ornamentals. A colour palette of uplifting yellows, subtle pinks and calming blues, lilacs, and white combine to form a cohesive planting scheme. Evergreen herbs are shaped as semi-structural hedges to add structure to the garden, along with three beautiful ornamental trees. The central water feature is made from weathered mild steel, evocative of the seasonal changes in nature. A woven willow pattern is repeated in the natural panels of the garden’s boundaries and the metal screens of the raised planters.
All gardens presented at RHS Shows live on somewhere else. Find out more about recent garden relocations: www.rhs.org.uk/shows-events/rhs-chelsea-flower-show/news/2024/chelsea-2024-gardens

What is the sun requirement when growing in containers for camellia
Useful to have the varieties of tomato explained for their cooking use. I would suggest tk try the golden beetroot, rather than the large white variety Raymond Blanc showed. They are smaller, and with a slightly earthy flavour when cooked, and have a yellow-orange colour. All of The produce he showed is well grown
Learn to say thrive and not frive.
Useful information. Thank you
Thank you. Clear explanation.
oh. no. He could be a millionaire a long time ago 😆
wow beautifulvideo thanks for sharing
Their rose is so beautiful, I wanna buy some 😅
I live in grow zone 3 in Canada where the temperature drops to between -40 to -50 degrees Celsius during winter. Would I still bury the pot of cuttings outside in the garden over Winter until the Spring? I use rose collars for my established Tea Roses to protect them during the Winter. I am not sure whether rose collars would protect the potted cuttings over our extreme cold in our cold Winter temperatures. Thanks.
A Rose by any other name would smell as sweet..🌹🌹
I've got 43 on my allotment, some grown from.seed. I don't lift them in the Winter as I live in the south of England. I just wish they had a fragrance.
Thank you both!!🙏 They sound like they know their onions...means roses.
Instead of a 500w frost heater to save houseplants in winter i now use a 400w led light that gives nearly as much heat but over winters peppers lovely plus winter salads ! I get greenfly problems but a bit of soap spray keeps them down .
Didn’t understand anything, “two leaves, new shoots, from where we cut off last…” 🙄🧐🤔🤔
What a beautiful channel..! i found it from being recommended by Alexandria of middle sized garden
Watching this video has confirmed my view that show gardens are really for people with lots of money to spend on their gardens.
Thank you!! As an American who visited Chelsea for the first time last year and was just overwhelmed with the magnificent gardens, this was a really clear description. I love the professionalism and transparency of the process. Thanks again. ❤
Thanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed the Show and the video 😊
🏅 💪 🌱
Thank you for this useful info, I have tried this many times and it hadn't work, could the time of cuttings make a difference? and what sort of good compose should one use?
I can't take away anything actionable unfortunately, i don't understand the guidance.
People who doesn’t understand a single thing 👇
Shut up😂
Lmao
😂
😐
🤷♀️
Lmao
Absolutely
What proportion of each of each ingredient? It’s not clear
Cheap!? That's questionable...well, is where I live.
The three new Garden Clouds varieties of Lonicera nitida have great promise as Box alternatives. The three have distinctly different different shades of green foliage - Copper Glow, Green Breeze and Purple Storm. They are very easy to grow and very adaptable, with more vigor than Box but easy to trim for a hedge or topiary. Hopefully the RHS will trial them to discover their true potential.
Thanks for watching and for your comment. You can see a selection of Box alternatives on this page, including Lonicera www.rhs.org.uk/plants/types/shrubs/box-alternatives
Thank U Ale! ❤
Thank you for watching!
Can it grow in hot weather and survive the summer heat of 48degree celsius?
Да-да!😂 Я тоже такую историю рассказываю мужу, когда прихожу после прогулок по магазинам!😂😂😂
